God is interested in the welfare of his people and will be ready to provide someone who will lead his people always, one who will

· Care for them
· Protect them and give them future
God will never wait and see these assignments undone. When and where a leader fails he quickly makes a replacement. Saul failed then David 1Sam 16: 1 be careful

Puring of oil upon. This is done by patriarchs 1Ch 16:22, priests Ex 29:7 prophets 1Ko 19: 16 e.t.c.
Its significance
1. Appointment 2Ch 27:7
2. Honour 1Sam 24:6,10
3. Privilege Ps 105:15
4. God’s blessing Ps 23:5
WHO DOES GOD ANNOINT
1. One of beautiful countenance 1Sam 16:12
2. A man of his heart Act 13:22
3. A trusted person Act 13:22
4. An achiever Act 13:22
ANNOINTING OF THE SPIRIT
Ø An out pouring of the holy spirit
Ø God wants all of us to experience his presence, his communion and his power
Ø When the anointing of the spirit comes upon your life
· You will be transformed
· Confusion will vanish
· Your yoke is broken
For this to happen you have to deaf to self and be filled by God’s presence Act 1:8. Then your anointing will flow
With the anointing of the spirit
v You will be liberated from sin
v Righteousness will enter your life naturally
v Your mentality will change i.e.s not of the flesh again but of the spirit
v You will be totally at peace
v You will be healed from head to toe
v You will receive total death to self and total life of god
v You will receive intimacy with the father

Anointing can dry or be absent Deut 28:40 if you
Disobey
Are lazy
Misplace priorities

2. Refresh your anointing through praying and knowledge seeking
