O YE RULERS – A LESSON FROM THE WORDS OF KING DAVID
DATE – 26-5-13
Text: 2 Sam 23: 1-7, Eph 1: 3-14
INTRODUCTION:
– This topic is relevance because today is the anniversary of Nigeria democracy
day so leaders must be conscious.
Ø Leadership begins from house hold, to
place of work, clubs, union, organisations, state and nations. These are places
where some individuals at the helm of
decision making do determine the welfare of others
Ø Because leadership is crucial at
determining success / failure then those in positions must know
§ Why king David? He appeared at the
time Israel was put into shame by the enemies
§ When there was a battle to be won
§ When hope was fading and assurance is
required
Lesson:
perhaps this is why you are in position;
To
be ‘and he shall be the light of the morning when the sun rises, a morning
without clouds, like the tender grass springing out of the earth, by clear
shining after rain’ 2Sam 23 vs 4
What does this mean;–
You
are the head to lead your people to positions of pleasure, rest, hope,
happiness, assurance, freedom e.t.c Ps 23: 2-4
